Tasks accomplished for the day.
Hal on Oct 2nd 2007
Well, as I laid out the goals for today, yesterday, I am pleased to note that they were met.
I did some volunteer work with some great people today that I am certain the Lord will use to bless others in need. The picture is a shot from my cell that I grabbed before we started loading vehicles with the supplies. How it worked was the vehicle (truck, vans, SUV’s with trailers) would drive down the middle and we would load them up with stuff on either side. During the loading I and an interesting fellow named, George, loaded a pallet’s worth of onions. In the picture you can see the onions in the middle of the shot. They’re the red 50 pound bags stacked about four feet high. It was a very overcast and drizzly day, but thankfully our Lord kept the rain away.
Also, this afternoon I mailed out my book proposal to Thomas Nelson.
That I will admit was a bit of nervous endeavor. I kept looking over everything to make sure I didn’t leave anything out of the package. I even changed and added a few things to the cover letter. I’m always tinkering with my words and stopping and letting go has been a hard lessen to learn. On the way home from the post office after handing it over, I had the fear that the glue would come undone and the package contents would get lost in transit.
I wonder if that feeling is anything akin to letting one’s child board the train or plane without you? Not an emotion I would be familiar with at this time in my life.
Of course I can print out another copy. One can’t exactly do that when the flight attendant misplaces your child.
Anyway, the proposal is on its way and I’m in the waiting mode with it. But I won’t be standing still. I need to clean up a short story and I want to start outlining and creating characters for another book. I also have a non-fiction book in mind as well.
Now if I just had enough time in each day!

About to send out my proposal.
Hal on Oct 1st 2007
Well, I should be sending out my book proposal for Sins of Our Fathers tomorrow if my day goes as planned. Today I spent time cleaning up the cover letter, bio page, and printing it all out for packaging.
I’ll be volunteering tomorrow morning at a ministry called, Take it the Streets, in Pinellas Park. They help rehabilitate drug addicts among many other great things. One of those other things is what I will being helping with tomorrow. They have a semi-truck of supplies (food, toiletries, etc.) coming in that we will help distribute to various ministries in the Pinellas County area.
After that I hope to put the proposal in the mail and have it on the way to Thomas Nelson, Inc.
